Over 200 wrongly issued PCNs overturned in Newham

Image
When a sign goes missing you would expect the correct replacement sign to be installed, but that does not always happen. There used to be a disabled bay outside 2 Woodstock Road : Unfortunately by June 2015 the sign had gone missing : A replacement sign has since been installed: Unfortunately it's the wrong sign : The local bylaw which creates the bay does not say it's for disabled residents, it's just a normal disabled bay. You can imagine my surprise when, having queried the apparent discrepancy between the sign and the traffic order, I received this response: This inevitably led to a further information request about the number of historic PCN, which resulted in this response: A formal complaint was raised and in fairness Newham has done the right thing on this occasion: Many people assume when they get a PCN that they must have done something wrong, you should never make such an assumption as you risk throwing money away for nothing.

Norfolk police wrongly issued £30 fixed penalty notice and have to cough up £1,500 legal fee

Fortunately Gary sought advice online where I informed him that not only he had not committed a parking offence, but that Norfolk Police were acting unlawfully in prosecuting him for something that was not a criminal offence to begin with. What an extraordinary turn of events, it now seems TFL do disclose this information on request. Maybe they just don't want to disclose it to me?

The following are the locations of parking and moving traffic enforcement cameras which are part of Transport for London's Digital Traffic Enforcement System (DTES), these are all manually operated cameras, they do not have ANPR, and they do not enforce ULEZ: All these cameras are some variation or another of the Bosch Security MIC IP Starlight 7100i, details of which are available here:  https://commerce.boschsecurity.com/gb/en/MIC-IP-starlight-7100i/p/68540570251/ Where the camera seen on Google street view is of an older type, that is because the Google street view car has not been round since the camera was upgraded to the latest model, but all cameras have now been upgraded. As the Google car drives round and gets updates pictures, the images below will also be updated. Transport for London doesn't want this information to be publicly known, which is the only reason why the information is published here.
